Der Cthulhu-Mythos in digitalen Spielen – keine reine Horrorsache

16. Oktober 2026 ·
[EN] Cthulhu is a fictional cosmic entity that encompasses an entire mythos predominantly associated with the horror genre. The fictional story provides a foundation for other works of fiction. Yet there is also another way of engaging with the mythos. Using three examples, this essay demonstrates that a fictional myth that influences works in the horror genre can be reinterpreted, thereby generating its own intrinsic value. Nothing is entirely evil or good; in the Cthulhu Mythos, everything appears to be merely a matter of interpretation.
