Whether in Shakespeare’s 'Antony and Cleopatra' or Goscinny’s and Uderzo’s 'Asterix and Cleopatra' – to us, Egypt’s last queen is always presented as a beautiful, moody woman. This paper looks at Cleopatra’s character in a contemporary work, 'Assassin’s Creed Origins', and examines to what extent her depiction adjusts to the artificial as well as artistic archetype of the femme fatale.
